In this video I am in the Big Hole Valley of Montana as a local ranch is putting up hay with a Beaver Slide. This area got the name The Land of Ten Thousand Haystacks as at one time every ranch in the area put up hay this way. Most ranches have went to round baling the hay nowadays but there is a few ranches left still doing this practice. I was lucky enough to be passing through the area while this was going on. It was fascinating to watch this and I'm happy to be sharing it on YouTube but it was even better to see it in person.

    Very interesting great video used to watch the local farmers with a standard Fordson TVO fitted with a front-end sweep feeding a static Jones wire baler driven by a belt to another Fordson with a pulley wheel had a few mishaps the tines on the seep punctured the baler tires

    the guy pushing the hay with the truck we had them here in Ontario nCanada in the 40 s and 50s We used to take the hay frpm thr field to the bbarn where it was put in the barn on slings which were pulled with horses We called them buck rakes I wonder what they called them
