The main raw materials, iron ore and coal, arrive at Erdemir and İsdemir facilities by sea and rail. One of the main raw material sources for the group is Ermaden.

The production process begins when the raw material is brought to the facilities. Coal to coking plants for the coking process; The fine ore is conveyed to the sinter factory for sintering so that it can be used in blast furnaces.

The coal, which is transported to the coke plant silo by the conveyor belt system, is charged to the furnaces and converted into coke at high temperature and in an oxygen-free environment, thus producing the coke needed by the blast furnaces.

Powdered ore, ferrous flue dusts and scale are brought to the size that blast furnaces can be used in the sinter factory, and sinter is produced and sent to the blast furnaces with the conveyor belt system.

Blast furnaces produce liquid raw iron. For the production of liquid raw iron, iron ore, sinter, pellets and coke are used as inputs. The liquid produced is purified from the raw iron slag and taken to the torpedoes.

The liquid raw iron in the torpedoes is desulfurized in the desulfurization plants and then transferred to the steel mill to enter production. In the steel shop; By using liquid raw iron, scrap and various alloying elements that differ according to the desired quality, the carbon ratio in the liquid raw iron is reduced by pure oxygen blowing method, thus liquid raw iron is converted into liquid steel.

The liquid steel produced is poured into the molds continuously in the continuous casting facilities, solidified in the desired dimensions and turned into slabs or billets, which are semi-products.

The shaped steel and slab are delivered to the hot rolling mills; the billet is sent to the coil rolling mill. Coil and sheet, which are flat hot products, are produced from slab, and coils, which are long products, are produced from billet.

The coils produced in the hot rolling mill are rolled in the cold rolling mill (at room temperature) and made even thinner to obtain cold products. The cold product is made into galvanized or tin-chrome coated packaging steel according to demand.

 

 

 

10.

The products produced in our facilities reach customers by sea, rail and land. For customers in need of sized flat steel, products are shipped after being slit and cut at the Steel Service Centers (Ersem) in Gebze, İskenderun, Ereğli and Manisa.
