For combustion to occur, three main conditions, called the fire triangle, must be present. In other words, three main elements must come together in certain proportions for the combustion event. Adequate heat, sufficient oxygen and combustible material form the fire triangle. In order for the flammable substance in our living environments to ignite and cause a fire risk, after the flammable substance reaches its ignition temperature, it must meet with 16% O2 and be together.
