Baby Transmission Power Take Off
The vehicle's main transmission has one or more zones suitable for mounting a power take-off.
The Power Take-off (PTO) is purchased separately from the vehicle and must match the PTO mounting location of the main transmission. Power take-off (PTO) is used when upper equipment needs to be operated. The Power Take-off (PTO) is mounted on the vehicle's main transmission. Mounting can also be done to the right, left, rear and bottom of the main gearbox. PTO is used in Tipper Vehicles, Ram Vehicles, Hook Loading Vehicles, Platform Vehicles and Fuel Tanker Vehicles. Some Heavy Duty Power Take-offs (PTO) are also used in Fire Trucks, Combined Cleaning Vehicles and Concrete Pumping Vehicles. PTO can be single or double output. Although it varies according to the Hydraulic Pump connection, the outputs can be suitable for ISO or UNI connections. Main transmission clutch and remote control mechanism are used to activate/deactivate the power take-off. Air valve is generally used for the start-up of the power take-off, but mechanical connection, electrical or hydraulic mechanisms are also among the options.
General Rules for Installing a Power Transmission
It is very important that you follow the details provided to verify the PTO installation and related accessories;
Always follow the instructions in the installation manual provided in the power take-off package and make sure to state the vehicle transmission label number before ordering.
Use the gaskets sent by us. It is inconvenient to use putty.
After the installation process is completed, the oil rate should be checked.
It is recommended to use moderate locking fluid for bolts and studs.
All installation procedures to be applied to the vehicle must be carried out on a flat surface for correct oil control.
Installation procedures should be performed with the engine and main transmission at room temperature.
Check the suitability of the Power Transmission kit.
Check if the clutch is working correctly, if not, adjust it again. The rotation of the gearbox should stop in 5-6 seconds.
Check that there is no unusual noise or vibration from the gearbox.
Using the Power Transmission
Important: The clutch must always be depressed to see if the power take-off is engaged.
In case of operating temperature rating and loading:
The temperature varies according to the use of the power take-off and the following values are needed. For a short time (less than 15 minutes) max. 120ºC for long time (more than 15 minutes) max. 100ºC.
The power take-off temperature rating can be effective in some cases and overheating needs to be lowered;
Oil changes should be made frequently in heavy duty operations.
Gear backlash should definitely be checked when PTO is connected from the side.
Additional lubrication should be done in cases where the PTO is used in heavy-duty jobs by connecting from the tail.
